Pens We Love for Hobonichi

These are some of our favorite pens for use with Hobonichi’s thin Tomoe River S paper. Results can vary depending on ink type, tip size, writing pressure, and how quickly you turn the page. In general, finer tips put less ink onto the paper, which can mean faster drying times and less chance of smudging, bleed-through, or transfer to the opposite page (so lean toward EF and F nibs!). Drying time can also affect how inks behave with highlighters, so we always recommend testing your favorite pen and highlighter combination before using it throughout your planner.
