The Calathea Lancifolia, also known as the Rattlesnake Plant, is a popular houseplant known for its unique foliage and vibrantly patterned leaves. This Calathea variety features long, lance-shaped leaves with distinctive dark green markings that resemble the skin of a rattlesnake. The undersides of the leaves often feature a rich burgundy color.
The Calathea Lancifolia is not only visually appealing but also known for its unique characteristic of closing its leaves at night and reopening them in the morning, known as "prayer plant" movement.
As a member of the Calathea family, the Rattlesnake Plant appreciates higher humidity levels. Misting the leaves or placing a humidifier nearby can help create a suitable environment.

LIGHT: A good bright spot without direct sunlight is advised. Too much direct sun will cause issues.
WATER: During the growing season (May-Aug) water frequently. Always keep the soil moist. During the winter cut this down and only water when the top soil has become dry to the touch.
TOXICITY: Non-toxic to pets.
