Tillandsia cyanea, or Pink Quill, is an eye-catching air plant that stands out with its vivid pink bracts and attractive foliage. It features long, arching leaves that are green and slightly curly, providing an elegant backdrop for the vibrant bracts that emerge from the center of the plant. The bracts are pink in color, resembling plumes or quills, hence its common name.
As an air plant, Tillandsia cyanea does not require soil to grow. It absorbs moisture and nutrients from the air, making it an excellent choice for unique and versatile displays. It can be placed in decorative containers, hung in baskets, or mounted on driftwood or other surfaces.
LIGHT: Tillandsia cyanea thrives in bright, indirect light and prefers moderate humidity levels.
WATER: Always allow the potting medium to dry out before rewatering and, if in doubt, underwatering rather than overwatering is the more sensible option. During the colder months, watering should be infrequent. The Tillandsia cyanea is chlorine sensitive, so rainwater or filtered tap water is the preferred choice.
