Modern Folk Art Workshop - 2/21/20
February 21, 2020
In this NEW workshop, we'll take a modern spin on folk art and its long tradition of fairly simple imagery surrounding hearth and home, loved ones, and lots of flowers and botanicals. Folk art is full of repeating shapes and imagery, which makes it very accessible to both beginners and intermediate students alike.
Using watercolor and acrylics, and a fresh color palette, you'll learn techniques and paint handling skills as you create a lovely piece for display or gifting. Brianna will work with you regarding layout and color choices. She'll be breaking down the layout of a painting into uncomplicated steps, and even if you feel like your drawing ability is lacking, will provide images to trace or copy to make it easy as 1-2-3!
Whether you'd like to create a simple couple or family portrait, a botanical illustration, or a piece celebrating your love of coffee, the sky is the limit!
Light sips and snacks will be served and all supplies provided.
